This place was pretty good. Two seasonal brews were on tap, a Dunkel Weizen and one they called Pequeno on the nitrogen tap. Not sure what kind the Pequeno was but it was a light beer (in color and ABV) with some definite floral taste to it. The Red and the Blonde were also good. I really liked the Hefeweizen though, one of the best I have had.
I had several appetizers and generally they were hot or miss. I had to try the frog legs and they weren't too bad. The skewer platter was excellent, as were the fries. The roasted garlic/brie appetizer wasn't anything exceptional and the crab cakes were a definite dissapointment.
All in all I would defintely recommend it to anyone in the area.

Could barely choke down the sampler. I usually can drink a sampler and at least a pint more of one of the selections, even at a mass market chain place like Rock Bottom, but not here. Not even the IPA. Was it just me and the Chevy's Fresh Mex dinner with a Bohemia that altered my taste buds, or old beer, dirty lines or what? Yucko

Stopped in this past Sunday evening returning to the Bay Area. This place can't be beat for easy access to the interstate. There were hardly any patrons which surprised me. It can't be for a lack of a good product or bad staff. Odd serving sizes; 12 oz or 22 oz. only except for Friday nights "Pint Night". Wanted a Red but they were out so opted for a tall Blonde. Good to the last drop. Tried a pepperoni-sausage pizza from the grill. Good but not great. Finished off the visit with their IPA, LastHopStanding. Enjoyed it, even though I'm not much of an IPA afficienado. Got a little taste of the Peligroso, a Belgian Dubble. Next time I'm flying down the I-80 by Travis AFB, have to stop in and give their Red a test run. Maybe the Peligroso will still be on tap.

I had been looking foward to visiting this brewpub for quite some time now. It was sure worth the wait. I can not say enough good things about the place. The first thing that hits you when you enter is the smell of the smoke from the wood-fired pizza oven. I knew right away what I was having to eat. You are also greeted by the giant Blue Frog. Great story behind the Blue Frog. The beers are all very good. I enjoyed thier I.P.A. the best, great flavor. The Hefeweizen is also very good. Friendly, and lively crowd was in while I was there. They made this stranger feel right at home. As an earlier reviewer had stated, the wild mushroom pizza was very good. I will stop by every time I am in town.

A slightly upscale restaurant located near the mall with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. The California pizza was delicious, with a soft, thick crust. The food went well with the red and the English brown ale. Definitely worth the stop. Beware glass collectors: expensive etched glasses, $6 – 4 oz, $12 – 12 oz. 12/12/03 noon

Blonde Ale was as good as any beer I've ever had calling itself a "blonde" (this is no bud clone). IPA was above average. Oatmeal stout was quite good. Red ale was also quite good and got better as you drank it (the taste subtly builds up). Belgian White was pretty good. Hefeweizen was just so so. The pizza was just OK, slightly below average. The place has a restaurant feel but still maintains a feeling of coziness.

Not a memorable brewery in our brewpub stops. They seem more concerned with the appearance of the dining room and presentation of food than the quality of the beer and food. We shared appetizers - french fries, stuffed mushrooms and calamari - all underseasoned. We'd have to go back to try more of their brews.

Stopped in for dinner last week while returning from Tahoe to the bay area. Owned and operated by Marie Calendars I was not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised. Found the Seasonal Bock to be quite nice, full of caramel maltiness with an ever so slight fusal hint of the high gravity it was packing. The Hefewiezen was right on, nice Banana & clove in the nose. They even asked if I wanted the lemon or not. Quite a step up from the places who think everyone wants one. The Amber ale I could drink all night, very smooth. Not an off flavor in the bunch. (I tried them all with the sampler set) Had the Steak sandwich (quite tasty) while my wife had the lunch size Calzone that she really liked. It's very nice to see they offer so many choices for the half-order size of their menu items. I'll definitely go back.

Opening in December 1999, Blue Frog shares building space with a Marie Callendar's. There are generally five brews on tap with one seasonal variant. The brewmaster's trademark is smoothness; despite the style of lager or ale, there is NEVER a trace of edge or roughness. This will appeal to neophytes, but would never put off experienced enthusiasts. My favorites are the IPA and the Oatmeal Stout. The just-released seasonal lager, a double bock, hides its alcohol level unbelievably well. The staff are exceptionally friendly to help with beer or food selection. Just a block off I-80 at Travis Blvd.
